Dutch Blitz

Dutch Blitz is frantic, face paced fun. The aim is to be the first to play all of your cards. Unlike most card games you don't have to wait for your turn, just get those cards played as quick as you can!

Each player has their own deck of cards in a specific colour. To begin the game each player places three cards face up in front of them, and then counts out 10 cards into a face down pile, this is the Blitz pile. The remaining cards are kept face down in the players hand.

Once the game begins, players will race to play cards from the three that are face up into the middle of the table. At the beginning only 1's can be played, but once a 1 has been played to the centre any player may then place a matching 2 and so on. Cards played from the three face up are replaced from the Blitz pile. If you are unable to play from your face up cards you may use the cards in your hand by counting off three at a time and looking at the third card. This card may be played if there is a legal spot for it.

As soon as one played has depleted his blitz pile, the hand ends. Players now score points for cards that have been played into the centre, but will lose points for cards left in their blitz piles.

Dutch Blitz is a load of fun, it becomes quite a challenge to monitor all of the piles in the centre of the table, while at the same time looking through your cards for one to play.

Dutch Blitz is recommended for 2 to 4 players ages 8 and up and each hand plays in about 10 minutes
